B-Streptokokken in der Schwangerschaft
Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht das Wissen von Schwangeren und Personen, die vor kurzem geboren haben, über das B-Streptokokken-Screening sowie deren Kenntnisse über Therapiemöglichkeiten. Die Relevanz des Themas besteht darin, dass es oftmals an umfassenden Informationen und Beratungen fehlt, welches Schwangeren die Entscheidung für oder gegen das Screening erschwert. Dies kann Unsicherheiten in Bezug auf den Test hervorrufen. Empfehlungen zur Durchführung des Screenings sowie die Behandlungsoptionen der B-Streptokokken sind umstritten, die dazugehörige Leitlinie ist veraltet und es gibt wenig evidenzbasierte Studien zu der Thematik. Der Forschungsstand und die Relevanz des Themas führen daher zu der Fragestellung: „Welche Kenntnisse haben Schwangere und Personen, die vor Kurzem geboren haben, bezüglich des B-Streptokokken- Screenings und der Therapie?". Das Ziel der Arbeit besteht darin, die Perspektiven schwangeren Personen hinsichtlich des B-Streptokokken-Abstrichs und einer eventuell erfolgenden Therapie zu untersuchen. Die Methode umfasst eine quantitative Online-Umfrage mit der Analyse von 76 Teilnehmer*innen-Daten. Ergebnisse zeigen, dass lediglich 42 Prozent der Befragten ausreichend über das Screening informiert sind, vorwiegend durch Gynäkolog*innen. Nur 32 Prozent kennen die Infektionsursache und lediglich 21 Prozent wurden über Therapieoptionen nach positivem Befund aufgeklärt. Die Selbstaufklärung der Proband*innen erweist sich als effektiv, insbesondere in Bezug auf die Übertragung von B-Streptokokken auf Neugeborene. Zusammenfassend besteht ein Mangel an fundiertem Wissen und eine unzureichende Aufklärung, sodass eine verbesserte Informationsvermittlung erforderlich ist. Zukünftige Ansätze könnten die Aufnahme von Informationen in Schwangerschafts-Apps umfassen, um gezielt auf Untersuchungen hinzuweisen und Konsequenzen abzuwägen. Dies könnte die Entscheidungsfähigkeit der schwangeren Personen stärken und das Bewusstsein für die Bedeutung des B-Streptokokken-Screenings schärfen.

The present study examines the knowledge of pregnant people and young mothers regarding Group B Streptococcus screening and their awareness of available therapy options. The topic is significant, as pregnant people often lack access to thorough information and guidance, which makes it difficult for them to decide whether to get screened or not and leaves them with uncertainty. Recommendations for conducting the B-streptococcus screening and the treatment options are controversial; the associated guideline is outdated, and there is little evidence-based research on the topic. The research status and relevance of the topic give rise to the research question: „What knowledge do pregnant people and young mothers have regarding Group B Streptococcus screening and therapy?" This question arises due to the Uncertainties experienced by pregnant people regarding the GBS-Test. The aim of the study is to explore the perspectives of pregnant people concerning Group B Streptococcus screening and subsequent therapy. The methodology involves a quantitative online survey analyzing data from 76 participants. Results indicate that only 42 percent are adequately informed about the screening, primarily through gynecologists. Only 32 percent are aware of the infection's cause, and merely 21 percent were informed about therapy options following a positive result. People´s selfeducation proves effective, particularly concerning the transmission of Group B Streptococcus to newborns. In summary, there is a lack of substantial knowledge and insufficient education, highlighting the need for improved information dissemination. Future approaches could involve integrating self-information options in pregnancy-apps to specifically guide people toward relevant examinations and promote self-education. This could enhance people´s decision-making capabilities and raise awareness about the importance of Group B Streptococcus screening.
